Editorial policy

We sell nothing and we are not paid by any brand or retailer to rank, feature, or recommend gear. No manufacturer reviews our verdicts before they publish, and no payment changes a fit conclusion. Some outbound links may earn a small affiliate commission, disclosed in full on our affiliate disclosure page; that revenue is separate from, and never influences, what we report.

Fit verdicts come from rider evidence: reviews, structured fit reports, and published size charts, as described on our data sources and fit scoring pages. We data-back the numbers we publish, state the size of the sample behind a verdict, and do not present a thinly-reviewed product as if it were well understood.

This is protective equipment. We will flag when a piece compromises protection for fit or style, and we do not encourage sizing choices that defeat the gear: a boot must close fully and not restrict circulation, armor must sit where it is meant to, and a jacket that only zips without layers is not the right size. When safety and a flattering fit conflict, we say so.

We work from real data, but data can be incomplete or a product can change. If we get something wrong, we want to fix it. Riders can flag a fit that does not match our read, or send their own fit report, through the share a fit report form, and corrections are folded back into the product's fit data.
