Be an Individual

While every rider I see on the road is focused mainly on looking "cool" in their dark gear, I am being seen and feeling seen in my Hi-Viz Helite Air Vest. Does it make me take more chances in my riding potential? Does your seat belt or air bag make you take more chances in your car? Well, it shouldn't, right. I have the privilege of working in a large and busy ER in a tourist town in Western North Carolina, yes home of the Tail of the Dragon and able to speak with many of the riders that have gone down. I get to ask the question "ever think about wearing an air vest?" And inevitably they all s

Works as advertised. Do you need to know *more*??!

Works as advertised. Nearly collided with a car at the top of a twisty exit ramp. Thrown from my bike, the neck brace inflated before I had time to think! When you buy, get extra canisters.

Womens Sizing review

Have not had the chance to wear this in action yet but this review is mainly to help other women find the right size for them. I purchased the size small Helite turtle 2 and it fits perfectly. Not too tight or loose. My measurements are 37" chest and 33" waist. Based on the size chart this puts me as a large or medium which seemed incorrect to me based on me usually wearing mens small jackets and womens medium jackets. I had the chance to try on the large in person and it was huge on me so I knew the small would likely be the best fit and thankfully it is! Not too many lady riders out there s

High Quality Safety Improvement

High quality vest that increases your safety. I have 3 suggestions for improvements: 1) instead of using CO2 to inflate the vest, use a lighter than air gas like helium so you would float over the accident scene 2) install miniature cameras along with artifical intelligence to survey the scene to locate a safe place to land 3) have little propellers that would pop out upon inflation and would propel you to the safe place to land

Cervical (neck) protection: - stabilization like this is hard to find without the toilet seat(t) around your neck of a hard brace. the is no interference with head check range of motion prior to inflation. Thoraco-lumbar protection: - collision from rear:- protection appears unbeatable due to massive volume of the posterior bladder. - collision in front:- protection is less than back but still appears more than almost every other vest out there. Collision from side : - little to no protection, so wear armor. High/Low side slide: - In low-side or high-side slide it would not inflate before

Not the best fit or look. Seems to be very high quality materials and build

I went by the size guide exactly and when I got the vest it was HUGE. I am 6'2" and 225 and the large-L was like a tent on me. Absolutely ridiculous. This thing has some weight to it. You notice it when you take it out of the box. As far as look, style, and fit go...I thought this thing was dorky looking on me. I'm by no means trying to be Mr. Cool and this was even too much for me. Of course, that is my opinion, to each their own. I will say that it seemed to be built very well. The back protector is super solid and completely covers your spine. The material felt very high quality. I can t

XL-L and LG-L doesn't mean long it means extra girth.

Be careful what size you choose the extra L in sizes LG-L and XL-L doesn't stand for long as stated in their video it means extra girth for those with large stomachs. I'm 6"3', 220 pounds, chest 47, waist 44, hips 42 and back length 28 and I ordered an XL-L and I was swimming in it. I called Helite directly and they told me what the extra L stands for and lots of people are having the same problem. When they translate the sizing from French to English that's what causing the confusion. Anyway Helite told me I should order a XL and they are sending me one. Lastly I spent $715 on the Helite

It literally saved my life!

One of these saved my life! I was riding long distances with an auxiliary tank mounted behind me. I came in too hot on a corner, wound up in a ditch with the bike/auxiliary tank body-slamming me in the process. I wound up with about 8 fractured ribs on the front, side and back, a fractured sternum, and 3 vertebra fractured. I got to ride on a helicopter after that. Weeee! Anyway, the airbag deployed as it should. Made a great instantaneous C-collar when it popped up against my Shoei. Even with the airbag that encircles under the arms and up the chest and level I CE back armor, I wound

No rib fractures after a fall this time!

Unable to source a Turtle Vest from Revzilla due to export restrictions out of USA so I purchased it locally in NZ. I finally used the Turtle in anger last week. Low Speed crash of Africa Twin onto tarseal on a bike with raised suspension so it was a long way to the ground. Last time I did this on another Africa Twin onto concrete I broke a rib. Absolutely nothing this time. Rib fractures cause pain for months and difficulties getting around so it was worth every cent. At 62 years of age the ribs are much more prone to fracture. Underneath I was also wearing a Klim padded shirt which prot

XL Size and Safety

Regarding sizing- I am 6’2”, weigh ~195lbs, in good shape. The XL vest is the correct fit over a fitted leather jacket (Dainese street fighter). It is supposed to be loose and it is, but I do not notice it at all when riding high or low speed. Rear bottom of vest covers my sacral bone in riding position. Lower sides cover my iliac crest (hip bones). I cannot personally attest to the safety benefit since I have not crashed. However, I did get this after a bad crash, shattering my scapula, a few ribs as well as bones in my neck and upper back. Neck fractures are what cause paraplegia. Thi

Great vest!

Great experience with business. Love the vest. Fits great. I'm 5'1". Short and weigh 170. I've had people tell me I don't look 170 at all. I'm solid built. So a medium was perfect for me. I'm a female and had a double mastectomy from cancer. They got all of the cancer. No reconstruction. So my my measurements are different. I hope this helps some people.

Worthy of the price tag

I purchased the Orange hi-vis in large for $580 on black friday. Looks and quality: This is the cutting edge of consumer motorcycle safety. Not only is it reactive, if you go for a high-vis then its proactive too. Of course you will look a little dorky, but i'd rather my ego takes a hit than my body! That's not to say its completly unsightly, on my ADV bike plastered with orange saftey tape I apparently look somewhat like the police. The vest and material also look and feel very high quality, so no penalty there. Sizing: The vest seems to be true to fit. I am 6 foot 2 but of rather slight bu
