Excellent Air Vest

“The quality of the vest a components are excellent. I'm coming from a Helite Turtle 2 air vest. The D-Air Smart Vest is less cumbersome to wear. I'm wearing it over a Dainese Racing 4 jacket. I would prefer to wear it under my jacket but my jacket doesn't have the 5cm they recommend when the vest is in underneath. However, I have no issue wearing it over my jacket. They do recommend wearing a rain proof jacket in the rain. The electronics are not designed to get wet. Since it doesn't have an integrated back protector, I just installed one in my jacket to provide added protection. I wear a 54 j”

Light weight, flexible and works flawlessly

“I've been riding with this for several months. It's incredibly light weight, cool in the summer if you're not wearing it under a jacket. I wear it over a shirt or over a compression shirt with armored arms. I can wear it over my mesh jacket with no problem. With the zipper expansion it's real flexible. I'm 6' 195 pounds usually wear a large, bought XL in this. Works flawlessly. Not sure about the complaints from people. Once charged it was easy to sync with the app, has about 10-12 hours of life. Tricky to fit

“I love and have several Dainese jackets. This vest does not fit under any of them with enough certainty the fit is correct- feels too tight with it enough room to expand. It is a questionable retrofit and I can't replace all my jackets with sizing up. I love upgrades to self recharging and the construction is excellent as are all Dianese products. It also won't fit over my jackets either and I'm not ready to order a size (or two?) bigger to test the fit?maybe at some point.”

Well designed air vest

“I like that the vest gas cartridge is user replaceable for three deployments before sending vest back for airbag replacement. Also like that vest has zippers on each side to allow for adjustment for rider fit. The app is limited in functionality but you need it for activation. Also, the vest did not include a charger; it works with a standard usb c cable and wall adapter. Setup required opening vest to find gas cartridge and manually connect the gas generator to an electronic cable connection. See photo. Good Airbag Vest

“This is my first experience with an air bag vest. The biggest advantage to this one is that is good for up to three deployments before it needs to be sent back to get the air bag replaced, unlike their previous model. It is comfortable to wear and can be worn either under or over the riding jacket. I am waiting to see how it is to wear when the weather is hot. It does seem to cut back the airflow of my ventilated jacket substantially. The charging port is extremely hard to connect. It's a USB-C connector and there is a velcro port on the back of it. “I have three different Dainese airbag jackets. Problems, problems, problems. Just buy helite. Or Alpinestars. Or literally anything else. The eBay special with a tether is better than this. Dainese makes great (overpriced) leathers and I can excuse problems if there was ANY kind of support. Just as a test, before you buy-- go ahead and email Dainese. See how quickly (or not at all) you get a response!”

Faulty and Dainese are no help

“The battery lasts 3 to 4 hours and the jacket does not arm when I am sitting on the bike unless I rev the bike hard and doesnt provide vibration feedback when it finally arms and disarms. The other day I was stopped at a light and saw the light was blue. For the rest of the ride, the light would flick from blue to green and back whenever it felt like. Owned multiple Dainese airbags and this one is clearly broken. Dainese have been dismissive and told me I must always keep my hands on the handlebars. Ridiculous. Dont buy this, get the Alpinestars airbag rather.”
